NY Times Mag makes Abe Foxman out to be a Devil

Check this horrible portrayal of ADL head Abe Foxman in the New York Times Magazine this week, titled: "Does Abe Foxman Have an Anti-Anti-Semite Problem?" The only thing this article does for me is remind me why so many people boycotted the NY Times a few years back. I can't wait to see the response....(Abe take out a NY Times Ad!)

I read the article and I must say you have some issues to deal with. The article was completely even and unbiased. It told the story of a man. I really have to wonder if the poster read the article or, rather, was feeling the ADL spirit and protested first and asked questions later. The reason some Jewish people boycotted the Times a few years ago is because some Jewish people (like "some" of any people) are bumbling idiots who do whatever their idiot neighbor or rabbi suggests. It is posts like this that keeps many orthodox Jews in the dark from birth until death. |

I was disgusted and frightened by this article. Any limits to antisemitism, including in the most mainstream, respected media seem to be gone. I didn't see any protest to this article. Had the subject been the black head of a Civil Rights organization or Moslem representative of anything, the hue and cry would have resulted in endless apologies. Of course, the Times would never have dared portray them in such a caricature. |
