Aggadah is often defined broadly as non-legal rabbinic literature. Yet, aggadah encompasses many forms- explication of verses, the retelling of biblical stories, rabbinic stories and parables. We will use both classic and modern strategies in analyzing a variety of aggadic texts and focus on composition, use of language and literary form.
