The inner state of the religious person is a central focus of the Book of Deuteronomy. The imperatives to love and fear God, to cleave unto God, to be whole-hearted with God, as well as the centrality of memory as a religious command, are a distinctive feature of Sefer Devarim. This course will study and analyze the parameters of these imperatives as we encounter them in this book.
