Jerry McGill was thirteen years old, walking home through the LES projects, when a stranger shot him in the back. Jerry survived and became a quadriplegic. The man who shot him was never caught. Thirty years later, Jerry addresses him in a memoir and with grace, honesty, and humor, takes us on a dramatic and inspiring journey—from the streets of 1980s New York, to the challenges of living with a disability, to the long, difficult road to acceptance, forgiveness and, ultimately, triumph.
