Chutz-pah (noun): a personal confidence or courage that allows someone to do or say things that may seem shocking to others.
In Yiddish, “chutzpah” means gall or nerve.
In Talmudic literature, chutzpah refers to irrepressible spirit and vitality. Chutzpah represents a revolutionary Jewish concept of human possibility and human responsibility. Chutzpah proclaims the dignity of being human and the possibilities of our redemption. Chutzpah is a uniquely Jewish virtue and a message we urgently need to relearn.
