My wife and I recently moved into a beautiful new apartment, but are sub-letting for three months while we go to travel in Africa on an extended honeymoon.  We are looking for someone to sublet the apartment from December – February (3 months).

The apartment is a beautiful 3 bedroom apartment in a brownstone home that has just been re-done with brand new everything.  Rent is $3950 per month + bills.  Dates may be somewhat flexible depending on the situation, but we are not interested in any sublet shorter than one month.  It would be perfect for someone who recently bought in the area and is looking for a short-term unit while their sale closes.

 

The Location:

The apartment is just steps (literally) from the Franklin Avenue subway, on the third floor of a brownstone on Eastern Parkway.  For those not familiar with the area, it’s a few stops to Manhattan on the 2/3/4/5, and a 5 minute subway to downtown Brooklyn.  There are loads of good restaurants around the corner on Franklin, and a French food truck on the corner with someone of the best croissants this side of the Atlantic.

 

The Apartment – Main Living Area

The apartment itself is a 3 bedroom apartment on the third (top) floor of a brownstone, approximately 1100 square feet.  The main living area has an open kitchen with an island and a bar that seats three people  The appliance are all brand new, and include a very large refrigerator, an oven with a 5-burner stove, a full-sized dishwasher, and an above-the stove built-in microwave.

 

We are also planning to sub-let the apartment fully furnished.  If possible, we’d prefer someone who keeps kosher or keeps a vegetarian kitchen – if so, we can possibly leave some (or all) of our kitchen stuff in there.  We love to cook, so have crockery and cutlery out the wazoo (an espresso machine, KitchenAid, two food processors, several mixers, full dish sets for 16 people, an orange juice press, pizza stone, etc etc.).

 

The living area is split into a dining area and living room (all open).  The dining room table that comfortable seats 6 guests, and 8 if you squeeze.  We have an L-shaped couch in the corner, and a 55in TV hanging on the wall that pulls away from the wall 40 inches so it can viewed from anywhere on the couch (and just about anywhere in the main living space).  The front of the apartment is south-facing and gets fantastic light, which is further complemented from a sky light.  There are also an enormous number of a recessed lights in the ceiling, and pendant lights in the kitchen that match a chandelier over the dining room table.  There is not yet a washer-drier in unit, but the plan is to have that installed before December (in the front closet).

 

The Apartment – Bedrooms

There are three bedrooms.  Two of these face the back courtyard, and one faces sideways (our building is the last in the row of brownstones, so we also have windows on one side of the unit).  Two of the bedrooms are fully furnished with queen-sized beds and dressers (the dresser in one bedroom is not pictured, as it’s arriving tomorrow).  These are comfortably-sized with enough room for the furniture and to move around.  The third bedroom is currently being used as a study, and has limited furniture at the moment (a bookshelf and some chairs).  We are happy to discuss the furniture that goes in the third bedroom.  Alternatively, we would also be are happy to rent the apartment as a 2-bedroom (for a discount) and leave the third bedroom as storage.

 

The Apartment – Bathroom:

The bathroom has a jacuzzi bathtub, sliding glass door, and marble slabs throughout.  There is a large sink area, and a mirror with embedded lighting.
