This Sunday (june 21) prepare to go to beaches of TEL AVIV – that is if you are in Central Park.  You can forget the Great Lawn this weekend for oggling single heebs, the Naumberg Bandshell (at 72nd crossroad) will be transformed at 11am to 6pm into the Tel Aviv beach. The Israeli ad-wizards behind the barage of Israel commercials on TV (Shalom!), radio and online ads are bringing their best assets to central park this sunday. And by assets we mean hot chicks and chayalim.

Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Tel Aviv, an artificial Tel Aviv beachfront is being created, complete with sand, lounge chairs, concession stands, and games of Matkot (Israel's ubiquitous beach paddle-ball). The transformation will include performances by Israeli bands and DJ's, and plentiful food. The event will be a large-scale version of the “permanent” Tel Aviv Beach installation inaugurated last year in Vienna, the Austrian capital.

The Tel Aviv Beach in Central Park will be open from 11AM until 6PM, Sunday June 21, and entrance is free. Access is best from 69th and 72nd Streets on the East Side, and at 72nd Street on the West Side. The event is sponsored by the Tel Aviv-Yafo Centennial Administration, the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Israel Ministry of Tourism and EL AL Israel Airlines.

Entrance is free of charge and the Beach will be open rain or shine
