The re-usable dvar torah:

It’s a bit unusual why we repeat the word “Shabbos” in the first verse of Kiddush on Shabbos day. We say " V'shomru Bnai yisroel es haShabbos…. La'Asos es haShabbos L'dorosum ". “Bnai Yisroel should observe the Shabbos, to do the Shabbos, for generations….” Why 2 Shabboses??

The gemara in Shabbos says that if all Jews would keep 2 Shabboses, they would immediately be redeemed. Rav Taub suggests that the gemara is not actually referring to two days of Shabbos, but rather the two sides of Shabbos that we can find alluded to in the aforementioned posuk: V'shomru es haShabbos – the prohibitive aspect of Shabbos (restricting your actions) and Laasos es haShabbos – the affirmative aspect of shabbos (enjoying the shabbos on a spiritual level).

There are two ways to approach Shabbos: To think only of it as being a burdensome, restrictive day or to also see the spiritual side of it as well. Incorporating both aspects creates the comprehensive Shabbos experience: controlling one’s actions which leads to appreciating the spiritual side that comes with Shabbos as well. If every Jew would embrace both aspects of Shabbos, then we would experience redemption. This is why the spirituality of Shabbos is often referred to as “me'eyn Olam Habah” (comparable to Olam Habah)
