In this shiur, we will engage in intensive study of the fascinating third chapter of Masechet Sukkah, Lulav Hagazul. The shiur will assume strong facility with decoding and analyzing a page of Bavli with rishonim, and will work to perfect those skills and add more (with an openness to source-critical, literary, conceptual/”lomdishe,” and other hermeneutical lenses) to our tool-chest. Participants will be asked to be active partners in creating the course, with off-line havruta preparation, independent research, and seminar-style presentations integrated into our curriculum.
Mondays, 12:30 – 2:30pm, tentative
9-session course: October 19, 26, November 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, December 7, 14.
