Israel’s Vibrant Economy & Technology Ecosystem – Its Impact on the World, and on Investment Portfolios

Over the past six decades, Israel has built a diversified economy that has been a paragon of stability, unleashed a technological boom, and has global reach. How has the small, embattled country of just eight million people become a major economic success story and a world-leader in a wide range of cutting-edge technologies? What are the prospects for Israel’s economy in 2016 and beyond, and will the benefits of growth flow to all segments of society? Will Israel’s myriad of geopolitical threats impact the economies’ bright outlook?

Furthermore, over the past few years, sophisticated North American investors have begun allocating assets to Israeli equities. They are doing so not as Tzedakah, but because rigorous analysis has demonstrated the potential diversification benefits of adding exposure to Israeli companies. What are the implications of this shift, both for investors and for the Israeli capital markets?

To address these questions, SWFS will host Steven Schoenfeld on February 11. He is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of BlueStar Indexes, a pioneer in developing benchmarks and investment strategies for efficient exposure to Israel’s economy. BlueStar’s flagship indexes are tracked by investment funds in both the US and Israel, including the NYSE-listed “ISRA” Israel ETF and Nasdaq-listed “ITEQ” Israel Tech ETF. In this presentation, Steven will provide an overview on Israel’s economic success, its key challenges, the prospects for new innovative technologies, and how institutional and individual investors are allocating their portfolios to Israeli equities.
