The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, directed by the highly energetic Fredrik Bond is a roller coaster ride set in a sketchy world of Bucharest, Romania. Charlie Countryman, played by Shia LaBeouf, decides to change the course of his life after the death of his mother.  

 

In a hallucination-like state, his mother’s ghost suggests he go to Bucharest, Romania.

 

Lost in his grief, Shia heads on a flight to Bucharest on what becomes the adventure of his lifetime. After the Romanian man sitting next to him on the plane dies, Shia hallucinates a messages from this man where he requests Shia find his daughter.

 

 

With a new purpose in life, Shia seeks out the recently deceased man’s daughter and immediately feels a connection with her.  The daughter, played by Evan Rachel Wood (with a flawless Romanian accent) is not  so quick to reciprocate. Shia is positive his entire life was set up to meet this woman trying to follow his heart he is in thrown into a world of gangsters and strippers.

 

 

Truly believing that these two are soul mates he’ll do anything to get her to fall in love with him, even if it means death. The music is intense, the chase scenes are exciting and the violence is flowing.
