This May hundreds of European and American young adults will gather together in New York for the first ECJS event in America.

ECJS, European Center for Jewish students, holds 5 major annual European conventions. ECJS has partnered with the Simon Wiesenthal Center to offer this opportunity for American participants to meet Europeans from dozens of countries. Attendees will learn about each other, build a transatlantic network of Jewish friends, and open new horizons.

Brining Europeans and Americans together is no simple feet. Creating a program that is sensitive to participants of both places takes a delicate balance.

“It is not enough to bring Europeans and Americans together, we want to ensure that the event has a united and friendly atmosphere. They should leave the event with lifelong friends like at the conclusion of these ECJS events in Europe.” Says San Diego born Sara Ives, who together with her husband Zevi Ives directs ECJS from Brussels – the EU capital of Europe.

In addition to a tantalizing taste of New York sights and culture, participants will have the option of taking part in enriching lectures and workshops available throughout the 5 day program exploring  contemporary Jewish issues. Shabbat becomes a unique affair when celebrated with a mixture of young energetic Jews from all over the world. It keeps getting better with the exclusive and privately tailored experience of New York night time views and Saturday night party with Birthright Israel Next NY. It is a New York experience like none other!

“To be able to meet people at one event from so many countries is an incredible experience,” Ives said. “It offers Americans a peek into a world of diversity through the eyes of their Jewish peers.”

The European Center for Jewish students is a non-profit, apolitical organization which caters to the needs and interests of all Jewish students and young professionals regardless of background or affiliation.

This event takes place May 6-10 and is open to Jews ages 21-35. For details and registration please visit Contact ECJS at or call +32.2280.3765.
