What amazes me is that no matter how many years go by and no matter that the essential ingredients remain the same (humans, a camera, and sounds), there are constantly innovations in motion picture storytelling. And I don't mean using advances in technology to improve effects, picture and sound quality, or any other modern development. I mean your simple, basic lay the camera down, have it focus on actors, let them talk and emote, and allow the story to unfold. It is amazing that filmmakers continue to be innovative within those constraints. Take Noah Baumbach for example.
